Description
This one-day Spanish and English bilingual workshop will serve as an introduction to Marco DALE. Through an interactive and applied approach, participants will connect the pedagogical foundations of Marco DALE to inform instructional planning and engage in discussions and activities that leverage the pedagogical framework, tools, and resources. Participants will explore how WIDA frameworks and practices such as translanguaging and multiliteracy-focused teaching can be integrated into instruction to support the linguistic and cultural identities of diverse students and families. This workshop will be delivered primarily in Spanish.

Audience
This workshop is designed for Spanish/English bilingual K-12 educators, administrators, coaches, curriculum coordinators and support staff with minimal experience using el Marco de los estándares del desarrollo auténtico del lenguaje español de WIDA (Marco DALE)
Outcomes
Participants will be able to:
- Maximize the cultural and linguistic assets of bi/multilingual students in bilingual instructional settings
- Identify how Marco DALE can support planning or bilingual instruction
- Inform instruction using Key Language Uses and Language Expectations for Spanish Language Development
